The
AJAX F 2 is a quite common pre-war .mask of the French Défense Passive
It is a French production under Italian licence
( PIRELLI ?).
The rubber moulding process of the facepiece is quite simplier than the C 38. The mask is of flat design and not of shaped design as the C 38 and haven’ t Tissot vents.
It allows a better mass production.
The exale valve is located on the front of the facepiece in a melalic casing with a screwed grid cover.
The filter is screwed vertically, just before the chin, on a metalic fitting.
The five points spring straps are sewn on the mask.
Several manufacturers has omitted to mark the mask with AJAX F 2 marking on the left side of the mask
